Where is the Castle?
Castello Bevilacqua is a beautifully preserved medieval castle nestled in a charming town between Padua and Verona, just about 1.5 hours from Venice. Surrounded by rolling countryside and timeless Italian charm, it offers a romantic and historic setting for our celebration.
Just a 5-minute drive from the castle is the picturesque town of Montagnana, known for its stunning medieval walls and relaxed atmosphere. This is likely where we'll be staying for the weekend, and we’d love for you to join us and make a little getaway out of it!

Transport information

RESTRICTIONS - PUBLIC TRANSPORT
It's important to note that there is no public transport after 7PM.
SHUTTLE SERVICE
If you’re staying in Montagnana, we’ve got you covered—a shuttle will take guests to and from the venue on the day of the wedding.
DRIVING
If you prefer to drive, there’s parking available at the castle.
TAXIS
Taxis in the area are limited, and Uber isn’t very reliable (or cheap). We do have a few local contacts we can share if needed—just let us know!

Where do we stay?
We are staying in an AirBnb in Montagnana from 11th September until 16th September.
Montagnana
We recommend staying in Montagnana as it's the closest town to Bevilacqua. It's a 5-minute-drive from the castle and has train service to Venice, Verona and Padua. We would advice to stay here as it's the closest and cutest town from Bevilacqua.
The Hotel Aldo Moro is one of the biggest and there are still rooms available. Double rooms for two people are about €115 and €75 for one person, breakfast included. If you want to stay here, get in touch with us and let us know the check-in and check-out dates.
There are also Airbnb available in Montagnana.
Legnano
A 12 minute drive from Bevilacqua, Legnano is the next closest city to Bevilacqua. It's slightly bigger than Montagnana but not as cute. Shuttles to Legnano can also be arranged if a considerable amount of guests stay here.
Padua and Verona
Both cities are about 1 hour drive from Bevilacqua. We WILL NOT be able to arrange transfer to/from these cities.
Venice
Venice is 1.5 hours away from Bevilacqua, so spending the night in Venice on Sunday is not a real option but it would be a viable option if you would kike to spend Saturday night and then go to Bevilacqua or Montagnana
Trains to Montagnana/Bevilacqua
If you're staying in Montagnana on Saturday:
We are getting the 5:40PM train to Montagnana on Saturday 13th September.
The absolute last train to Montagnana on Saturday is at 6:10PM (which is twice as long a journey).
If you are staying in Venice on Saturday:
Optimistic Vicky believes that you could take the 12:40 train to BEVILACQUA, which would take you to the Castle for 14:20ish.
Realistic Enzo believes that, considering it's a Sunday and there might be delays, the 9:40 train to MONTAGNANA is the best option. If you do so, you can have a wander around Montagnana and then take the shuttle to the wedding venue.
What to do around Montagnana
Nestled in the Veneto region of northern Italy, Montagnana is a charming medieval town best known for its remarkably preserved 14th-century city walls, considered among the most beautiful in Europe. The town is a peaceful and picturesque destination, perfect for a relaxing stay before the wedding. As you stroll through the cobbled streets and under the imposing city gates, you’ll feel like you've stepped back in time.
In Montagnana, you can visit the Castel San Zeno, the oldest part of the fortress complex, or admire the elegant Duomo of Santa Maria Assunta, with its stunning Renaissance frescoes. Food lovers will enjoy tasting Prosciutto di Montagnana, the town's famous cured ham, best paired with local wines. The central square, Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, is lined with cafes, perfect for a morning espresso or aperitivo.
